Why I fell in love with photography...

There’s something magical about freezing a moment in time—a sunset dipping below the horizon, my boys giggling in the backyard, golden light filtering through the trees on a quiet evening hike. Photography has become more than a creative hobby for me. It’s a source of joy, a breath of fresh air, and a way to reconnect with myself.

As a mom of two young boys, my days are full—full of laughter, cuddles, chaos, and everything in between. And while I love being their mom more than anything, photography has given me something that's just mine. It gets me out of the house. It pushes me to explore, to chase light, and to look at the world a little differently.

There are times when I’ll pull over just to capture a sunset, or lace up my shoes and head out for a hike with my camera in hand. In those quiet moments, I’m reminded of who I am beyond the routines and responsibilities. Photography gives me purpose—it invites me to slow down, to notice the little things, and to create something beautiful from the everyday.

The joy I get from clicking the shutter and seeing a story come to life in a single image—that’s what keeps me coming back. Whether it's documenting my family or capturing moments for others, photography fills my heart in a way that’s hard to put into words. It’s more than pictures. It’s presence. It’s peace. It’s purpose.

If you’re looking for someone to capture your family, your love, or just a special moment in time—I’d be honoured to help. Let’s create something beautiful together. [Contact me here] or follow along on Instagram @jendolanphotographyto see more of the moments that inspire me.
